About the project:

We are developing CVAT.ai, which is one of the most popular open-source platforms for data storing, annotating, managing, importing and exporting for computer vision algorithms. We are also a part of the official OpenCV team, one of the largest open-source libraries in the world.

What you will do:

Develop English language documentation for users, developers, DevOps engineers, and other tech-savvy audiences, which means you must have a solid technical background.

Your responsibilities will be:

‍‍— independently write and improve documentation for the online data annotation platform (https://github.com/opencv/cvat);

‍‍— get to grips and understand the essence and technical part of the project, interact with developers;

‍‍— describe typical/common ways of working with the tool;

‍‍— create video and graphic materials using the tool as an example;

‍‍— propose changes to the existing processes and encourage the use of new tools to create high-quality and comfortable/user-friendly documentation;

‍‍— contribute to improving the product usability from the user's point of view (tips, error messages);

‍‍— analyze documentation of similar tools from competitors.

 

What we expect from you:

‍‍— experience with Markdown;

‍‍— high level of English (C1/Advanced or higher), you must be able to read and write English-language documentation fluently;

‍‍— experience with a version control system (Git)

‍‍— good understanding of the client-server architecture, and microservices;

‍‍— understanding of the various file formats used in client-server interaction (JSON, XML);

‍‍— at least the overall outlook of modern infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

 

Would be an added advantage: 

‍— at least 1-year experience as a technical writer;

‍‍— understanding the importance of data for artificial intelligence algorithms;

‍‍— experience with the Linux command line.
