About the project:
We are developing CVAT.ai, which is one of the most popular open-source platforms for data storing, annotating, managing, importing and exporting for computer vision algorithms. We are also a part of the official OpenCV team, one of the largest open-source libraries in the world.
What you will do:
Develop English language documentation for users, developers, DevOps engineers, and other tech-savvy audiences, which means you must have a solid technical background.
Your responsibilities will be:
— independently write and improve documentation for the online data annotation platform (https://github.com/opencv/cvat);
— get to grips and understand the essence and technical part of the project, interact with developers;
— describe typical/common ways of working with the tool;
— create video and graphic materials using the tool as an example;
— propose changes to the existing processes and encourage the use of new tools to create high-quality and comfortable/user-friendly documentation;
— contribute to improving the product usability from the user's point of view (tips, error messages);
— analyze documentation of similar tools from competitors.
What we expect from you:
— experience with Markdown;
— high level of English (C1/Advanced or higher), you must be able to read and write English-language documentation fluently;
— experience with a version control system (Git)
— good understanding of the client-server architecture, and microservices;
— understanding of the various file formats used in client-server interaction (JSON, XML);
— at least the overall outlook of modern infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Would be an added advantage:
— at least 1-year experience as a technical writer;
— understanding the importance of data for artificial intelligence algorithms;
— experience with the Linux command line.
— excellent experienced team of Computer Vision enthusiasts;
— health insurance, free English and professional courses, gym membership refund;
— perfect conditions for scientific research that allow you to participate in conferences and round tables (and you don’t have to worry about travel and accommodations — we got you covered);
— culture that thrives off creativity and individuality.
